Many FOEDRC Members Receive Funding From NIH

Congrats to the FOE Diabetes Research Center Members who all received funding from the NIH in May of 2018. Below is the list of members and the title of their grant.

  • Modar Kassan, PhD: “miR-204/Sirt1 axis induces endothelial dysfunction by targeting vascular serotonin in diabetes/obesity”
  • Stefan Strack, PhD: “Targeting mitochondrial fission for neuroprotection in diabetic neuropathy”
  • Yuriy Usachev, PhD:”Targeting mitochondrial fission for neuroprotection in diabetic neuropathy”
  • Mark Yorek, PhD: “Targeting mitochondrial fission for neuroprotection in diabetic neuropathy”
  • Ajit Vikram, PhD: “Gut-microbiota regulated vascular miR-204 promotes diabetes-associated endothelial dysfunction”
